On this day in 1918, "The Great War" ended with the signing of The Treaty of Versailles. The people of that time thought that they had just ended "the War to End All Wars." Sadly, they could never have been more wrong. Mankind's nature leads to conflict. Whether it's because of political, ethnic, religious, economic reasons or just plain animosity or orneriness, the human race is fated to clash for/over whatever excuse. Men, women, husbands, wives, sons, daughters, military personnel and civilians have lost/given their lives in battle. No matter what your personal views are of conflict, please remember that, those that have died were someone's hero.
So, whether you call it Armistice Day, Rememberance Day, Poppy Day, Veterans' Day or just November 11, 2010, think of those who are gone.
LEST WE FORGET
Thank a Vet today........and every day.
